It's comprised of 30% cotton and 70% cellulose and is machine washable in either the washing machine or dishwasher (top rack) up to 200 times, so you may use it for 9-12 months. The manufacturer boasts it absorbs 15 times its weight in water = the equivalent of 15 rolls of disposable paper towels!
