Maryland Biscuits, also known as Beaten Biscuits, are named such for they were originally made from biscuit dough beaten with the back of an axe on a biscuit block made from a tree stump. Beating the dough was standard practice during Colonial times when yeast was in short supply. This crate housed Maryland Biscuits for the F. Drury Co Cakes & Crackers out of Baltimore, MD. Most of the original company name is readable in red and blue. Measures 21.5 x 4 x 11". We are unable to offer shipping for this vintage piece. Onsite pick up only please.
